The main storyline follows a war among three galactic species: the strong, stable human Terrans, the hive mind arthropodic Zerg, and the psychic humanoid Protoss warriors. Starcraft was also later ported to the Nintendo 64. It was initially released for the PC platform in 1998 a Macintosh version of the game was released in 1999.
